World Religions Day 2025
World Religion Day
On Monday 20th January, the children will be learning about different world Religions through a range of activities including dance, art, English and Maths.
Each year group will be studying one religion that is not part of their usual curriculum for RE that year. EYFS Judaism
Year 1 Hinduism
Year 2 Islam
Year 3 Sikhism
Year 4 Paganism
Year 5 Buddhism
Year 6 Humanism
You may see that two year groups will also be exploring two areas of a non-religious perspective, as this is part of our RE syllabus that we follow as a Hampshire school. We follow the Living Difference IV syllabus, and a link to copy of the syllabus can be found on our school website here: https://www.swanmoreprimary.org.uk/page/?title=Living+Difference+4&pid=361
As a Church of England school, we have a responsibility not only to teach children about the Christian faith but also to foster a respect and appreciation for the differing views and beliefs of other religions and cultures. This is done across the school through our Religious Education scheme of work. This World Religion day will further develop this and enriches the children's experience and understanding.
We are very keen to tap into any family expertise and resources!
If you can offer support with any of the faiths, then please see your child’s class teacher.
Many thanks in anticipation of your support.
Yours sincerely, Mrs Clark RE Manager
