Learning about Easter at St.Barnabas Church

As a hook into our R.E. unit all about Salvation, we visited St Barnabas Church to learn about the different parts of the Easter Story. We then used these events to reflect on some of the current events in our world today and how people manage and deal with the challenges of everyday life. We also learnt that the story is also a symbol of hope and used this to think about our own hopes and dreams for the future.

Southampton City Mission

We welcomed back Ellie from Southampton City Mission to continue our learning about Salvation, exploring the Easter story in greater depth.  We  learnt about the use of symbols within the Easter story, why Christians think Jesus was resurrected and reflected on our own thoughts and beliefs.  Some excellent questioning from Year 6 to complete our educational day.
